Marist continue magical run

Marist Magic continued their run of wins with a double victory over the Harbour City Hawks in both the mens and womens national league at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre this afternoon. But the two victories came with quite contrasting games.

The Marist Women proved too strong for the young hawks side overwhelming them by 19-4 with Nicole Lewis and Sam Schubert each netting 4 goals whilst A string of other goals went to various Marist players. Bridie Hunt netted all of the Harbour City goals. Marist bounced out well to a 5-0 lead then to 10-1 at the half time buzzer and continued to pile on the goals in the second half.
The Marist men though had to struggle in the first three quarters against a resilient Harbour City side before coming out on top 19-11 thanks to a 7-2 final quarter. Marist trailled in the first quarter by 2-4 , drew equal at 6 all by the half way mark and edged ahead 11-9 in the third quarter before taking off in the final quarter. John Ware, Matt Reid and Jez Sherman each netted 3 goals for the Marist Magic whilst Richard Claridge top scored for the Hawks with 4 goals whilst Josh Potaka and Josh McKeown chimed in with 3 each. The wins to Marist leaves them and North harbour unbeaten to date in both the Mens and Womens Leagues
