It started with a Magic show and it finished with the slogan "all fired up" being transformed into "all tied up"

The Marist Magic/Hutt Heat mens game ended in a 9 all draw, but the womens encounter was no less thrilling when Marist just continued its unbeaten run with a Kylie Cooper goal 8 seconds from full time to make it 14-13 to the Magic over the Pelorus Dolphins.
Spectators were treated not just to a magican to introduce the games but a magic show of its own in the water. Both games went goal for goal with many lost opportunties and many moments of agony.
The womens game saw Hutt open up a 3 goal twice in the match only to see it whittled away and Marist's Kylie Cooper produced her own knd of magic to seal the match 8 seconds out after the Dolphins had equalised just 7 seconds previously with an Ashleigh Wooton goal to tie the scores at 13 each. Wooton top scored for the Hutt outfit with 4 goals whilst Caitlyn Duffy and Becky McGuinness each netted 3 times. The Marist teams attack was led by Kylie Cooper and Alex Badger with 3 goals each.
In the Mens match the teams slogged it out at frenetic pace until Hutt edged ahead 4-3 at the half break. They still clung to a 5-4 lead at the three quarter mark and moved out to 6-4 soon after, but Marist bounced back with a vengence netting 3 goals in a row to take the lead. Ironically it was Mark Collins -on loan to Hutt from Marist - who equalised and Olaf Adam sent Marist back to a one goal lead soon after. It was Eamon Lui who sealed the draw for Hutt with a goal 2 minutes from full time and despite 3 extra man opportunties over the next 2 minutes , Marist were unable to put one more away and the game ended in a fitting draw. Collins and Lui each netted 3 goals for the Heat whilst Marist's Phil Howat, John Ware and Olaf Adam each scored twice
